Creation of a holiday cottage accessible to people with reduced mobility

A future accessible holiday cottage in the heart of La Jaurie

At La Jaurie, we want to welcome everyone in the best possible conditions.
That is why we are currently working on creating a PMR-accessible gîte for people with reduced mobility, designed to offer comfort, tranquility and proximity to nature.

An accessible and adaptable gîte

The future gîte will be built on two levels which can be rented separately or together.

  • The ground floor can be used as a reception area.
  • The ground floor can accommodate up to 4 people
  • The upper floor can also accommodate 4 people
  • The two spaces can be connected by an interior passageway.

This project will allow families, groups and people with disabilities to fully enjoy a calm and nature-filled stay in the Limousin region.

A supported and responsible project

The first phase of the project concerns the administrative procedures and the purchase of the materials necessary for the accessibility of the gîte.
This project was made possible thanks to the financial support of the The Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region and the European Union via the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development, within the framework of the program Leader Châtaigneraie Limousine .

An eco-friendly building

The second phase concerns the preparation of the ground.
The old building is being dismantled, with materials sorted to promote recycling. The foundations are made of expanded glass, a recycled, durable, and insulating material.

A straw bale construction using the GREB technique

The third phase is dedicated to the construction of the straw bale house using the GREB technique, recognized for its ecological and thermal qualities.
This phase will take place between the end of 2024 and May 2027.

A place designed for everyone

With this future PMR gîte, La Jaurie continues its commitment to family tourism, accessible and respectful of nature, in a peaceful and authentic environment.
